The Highlead GC20638-25D
SP2 is a special version twin needle long arm sewing machine
with automatic thread trimmer, electronic control and Split needle bar
system.
The long sewing machine arm allows around
635mm* (25”) clearance to the right of the needles, which is 2½ times
bigger than most standard sewing arms.
It features a triple feeding action by way of:
bottom feed, needle feed and walking foot top feed and is fitted with two large vertical
axis hooks & bases for use with medium to heavy weight
materials.
The special split needle bar feature is useful when sewing,
for example, corners or tight angular stitching and allows the
operator, at the flick of a lever, to disengage one of the needle bars;
so the machine can sew with one needle. You can select to disengage or
re-engage the left or right needle depending on operation required.
The machine is equipped with an automatic thread trimmer
which is mounted under the needle plate for quick & accurate cutting of
thread at the end of a sewing cycle. This saves considerable time when
compared with manual cutting of threads using scissors etc. The
thread trimmer is electronically controlled and uses electric impulse
solenoids to move the cutting knives.

The position of the needle is
controlled by an electronic needle position motor & controller.
This will automatically put the needles in an UP or DOWN position
(selectable) at the end of a sewing cycle: reducing the need to use the
manual hand wheel. This function is of particular use on long arm
machines as the hand wheel is further away from the sewing area.
A safety clutch is fitted to help prevent damage to
the hooks, bevel gears and other important parts, should the machine become
jammed or over-loaded.
The GC20638-25D-SP2 is a feature packed long arm

and as well as the features listed above; it comes as standard with
programmable automatic back-tack stitching, knuckle quick reverse
system, built in digital stitch program module and air operated
automatic foot lifting device.
It is fitted with the latest quiet & energy efficient
electronically controlled heavy duty servo motor, which only runs when you are actually
sewing; If you pause or stop: the motor stops immediately and is almost
